FOR APPLE MIXTURE
2 apples, peeled and chopped
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
FOR BREAD
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, softened
2/3 c. granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. orange juice
How to bake?
Step1:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius). Using nonstick spray, coat a 9-inch SunBrand Bread pan.
Step 2:
Peel and chunk one large apple. Combine the apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Set aside some time.
Step 3
In a large mixing basin, combine the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside some time
Step4:
2 minutes on high speed, mix the butter and granulated sugar together until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs and continue to beat on medium speed until everything is well blended. As needed, scrape along the sides and up the bottom of the basin. On medium speed, beat in the applesauce and vanilla essence until well mixed.
Step5:
Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, set the mixer to low speed, and slowly pour in the milk while the mixer is running. Do not over-mix; only mix until everything is combined. To ensure there are no lumps at the bottom of the bowl, you may need to whisk everything by hand. The batter will be slightly thick and sticky.
Step 6:

Step 7:
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool entirely in the pan on a wire rack. Drizzle once cooled, cut into slices and serve the bread.
How to check if the bread is well cooked?
At the 30 minute mark, cover the bread loosely with an aluminum foil to prevent the top and sides from browning too much. When the bread is done, a toothpick inserted in the center will come out clean. At 60 minutes, start checking. Remove the bread from the oven and lay it on a wire rack to cool thoroughly.
